BASH 31: Jensen holds the line

This week we meet Andy Jensen, technical advisor and one of the founders of Breaking Point, the Call of Duty 2, World-War II on-line Tournament.

In Breaking Point you join Axis or Allies and you fight to conquer Eastern and Western Europe and North Africa. You can relive history - or re-write it! holdtheline.jpg

Andy and Tim (Wally) Walters, college-age friends, came up with the idea of a CoD2 tournament back in 2005 that focused on the CoD community. They quickly brought it from a dream to reality in just a few months and forged it into a continuous series of 9-12 week events where the battles are drawn outside clan lines.

Today we talk to Andy about the details of Breaking Point:

- How do you join the tournament. - The gameplay. - The role of officers in the battles.

He also describes Platoon Wars …something that the bpcod2 folks do when they are not playing in the tournament.

We highlight the brilliance of folks like Madskillz who has produced breathtaking e-films for Breaking point, like:

- Hold the Line

- Apocalypse Now: London

Andy also goes into detail over the following issues that are looming over the horizon:

- How is Breaking Point managing the fall-off in CoD2 player participation on servers community-wide.

- What does he think about CoD4 and is Breaking Point considering moving the tournament into Modern Warfare?

This is not Breaking Point’s first appearance on BASH as many of our long time listeners know. One of the first appearances was on a webcast we did called the Vortex. That webcast is still on the ‘net and you can still download it here (It will be on our old website until the end of the year).
